Javna, the leading Arab firm in software solutions and wireless applications,
announced it has completed its technical and logistic preparations for hosting
Lifetime Shot, a contest launched recently by Al Jazeera Sports Channel with the
total value of prizes hitting USD30M.
Javna's CEO Mansour Mansour said, 'We have wrapped up our preparations to host
this sports event, which is the largest of its kind and it relies on interaction
with viewers through SMS.'
He added, 'Javna has signed agreements with all telecom companies operating in
the Arab region and North Africa. These companies, 40 in total, provide their
subscribers with the opportunity to take part in the contest interact with its
events and vote on results.'
It should be noted that an array of top US and Arab basketball stars will take
part in this big event, along with amateurs and any of the channel's viewers who
wishes to try his lifetime shot and become a millionaire.
Lifetime Shot, whose intellectual property rights are exclusively owned by Al
Jazeera Sports Channel, is the first interactive sports events in the history of
Arab TV broadcasting industry.
For his part, Javna's director of Redrabbit Messaging Services, Mustafa Nasser,
expressed his delight over Al Jazeera Sports Channel's selection of the Javna's
technologies and its platform Redrabbit. He underlined previous cooperation
between the two sides. Javna is also the host of Al Jazeera Mobile.
